Cuando mayor es el n\u00famero de estos, sean flores o frutos, mayor es la competencia entre ellos, tanto por elementos minerales como por productos de fotos\u00edntesis, lo que limita sus posibilidades de crecimiento y, por consiguiente, su tama\u00f1o final (Goldschmidt y Monselise, 1977).<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de los factores end\u00f3genos, otros factores, externos a la planta, presentan marcada influencia en la determinaci\u00f3n del tama\u00f1o final del fruto. Entre ellos cabe se\u00f1alar las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas y ed\u00e1ficas, as\u00ed como las pr\u00e1cticas culturales, fundamentalmente riego y fertilizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1346 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/fagro.mx\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/web-shutterstock_400023565-1024x682.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"447\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fagro.mx\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/web-shutterstock_400023565-1024x682.png 1024w, https:\/\/fagro.mx\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/web-shutterstock_400023565-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/fagro.mx\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/web-shutterstock_400023565-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/fagro.mx\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/web-shutterstock_400023565.png 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 447px) 100vw, 447px\" \/>La acumulaci\u00f3n de metabolitos en el fruto y, por tanto, su crecimiento, est\u00e1n directamente asociados a la temperatura (Sinclair, 1984). El fruto llega a ser altamente susceptible a las altas temperaturas en algunas fases de su desarrollo inicial (per\u00edodo de divisi\u00f3n celular), durante el periodo de maduraci\u00f3n la ausencia de crecimiento del fruto se halla asociada a las bajas temperaturas. Temperaturas por debajo de 3\u00baC ejercen un efecto significativamente depresivo en el crecimiento del fruto.<\/p>\n<p>El nitr\u00f3geno y del f\u00f3sforo cuyo exceso provoca reducci\u00f3n del tama\u00f1o y p\u00e9rdida de calidad del fruto (Chapman y Rayner, 1951; Jones et al., 1957).
